I bought a laptop with windows 8 e I'm trying install NX 7.5 (I've already had it installed on my pc with Windows xp), but I can't manage to install it..

Has anyone tried to install NX 7.5 on Windows 8? Is it compatible?
I was wondering if it's possible.

Thank you

We are currently in the process of certifying NX on Windows 8, however NX 7.5 will not be included in that effort. Therefore GTAC will not be in a position to help you with this particular configuration.

Our recommendation is to either ‘downgrade’ your laptop to Windows 7 or wait until we’ve completed our certification and then upgrade to the latest version of NX.

Thank you guys!
I've tried again and now could install it!

Window 8 is awsome. Its very faster than all win versions. It takes second to open NX.

I haven't found startup to be any faster. Time to desktop is afaster but then it takes more time starting up the services that it didn't immediately load. IMO overall it's okay but the way it switches back and forth between the metro desktop and the legacy desktop is totally disconnected and feels very awkward. Now that my workstation is upgraded I will probably stay with Win8 but had I known how horrible the interface is I would have stayed with 7 as long as I could have.

Hello Holyghost,

What JVM should be updated? On win 8 or something from NX75.
Your answer will be much appreciated because our students purchase
new laptops with windows 8 and our school is not yet planning to move up
to the next NX level

Hi Guys

You can install nx 7.5, 8.0 and 8.5 in windows 8. Check Properties of Licence server and check compatibility .. I think default is XP ,, that one change to Windows 7 .. then install license server. it works fine in windows 8

Thanks.
