Hi all. I have a question about NX 7.5. Let me preface this by noting that I am a proficient user of Solidworks. At my workplace I make op sheets for producing parts. In Solidworks I would make the final 3D model and then use configurations to suppress features to make certain intermediate operations. I would then use the custom properties to fill in the operation information, so that when I made a drawing those would show up in the title block with each respective operation. Is this possible to do in NX 7.5? As in make the model and then divide into individual configuration which I could assign unique properties? Thanks for your help!

You could try to add the features of interest to Feature Groups which could then be suppressed/unsuppressed as needed. Or you could create associative parts ( copies created using WAVE-Linke bodies) at each 'stage' of your manufacturing workflow, from whixh separate set-up and process Drawings/Manufacturing files could then be created from.

What you do is finish your model to it's final form, then roll-it back to the point of interest using the 'Make Current Feature' option from the Part Navigator. At that point you create the WAVE-Linked part using the 'Fix at Current Timestamp' option. Now repeat this for each step in your workflow and as mentioned above, you'll now have a separate yet 'associative back to the original' model, part file for each manufacturing step. These are the part files that you would then create your set-up and process drawings/NC models from, each of which can contain the relevant information and set-ups.
