Hi everyone, im new to the forum and hope that someone can help me as Im pulling my hair out with this problem.

Im running at work NX 7,5.

I have a saving problem.....in fainress thsi is probally a "user problem".
I save my files like the following in a windows format.

Project folder.
First folder includes...
Model
Superseeded
Tooling

Within the "Model Folder" I have a project folder (title of my unit) and within that folder are all my assemblies and part files togeather.

When I update or make a major change I copy the whole "Project Folder" from the "Model Folder" to the superseeded folder and add the date to the end of the folder name so windows can then date order the folders.

The problem Im having is ive just realised that when I update the current model and save it, the same file in the superseeded folder also updates! im so confused.

Ive tried differetn file assembly load options form "as saved" to "from folder" and this doesnt seem to help. At the moment im working from Partial versions "as saved" and Scope "as saved", use partial loading and finally load bavior to Generate missing part family members.

This is because this is the only setting that brings up my model how I would like and was intended to be on screen. Maybe ive ballsed this up from the beginning[ponder] (cough cough 9 months ago). This is the second day now that ive been trying to get around this and still cannot stop my files from over saving over other files and folders.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Two notes, NX cannot save the save the "same file" in two locations at the same time, ( i.e in the "superseeded" directory and at the same time "the other directory".) Therefore,: make sure ( due to your directory "method" ) that you always open the files using "File- Open" and never with "history" or "recently opened parts" since these two will not as evidently display the directory.
Then the load option "from Directory" should do the job.

Regards, Tomas
