NX 8.0.3, Moving Wiring Info to Assembly Navigator

I have been told it is possible to import an .XML containing wiring pin to pin information and part numbers into the electrical connection navigator, and from there move the part numbers into the assembly navigator. All parts used in the assembly need to show up in the assembly navigator so they will show up in the parts list when exported into Teamcenter.
Does anyone know how to do this? What version of NX are you using?
