Yes. For more information, please provide more information on the type of view you would like to create (modeling view, drafting view, etc).

Thank you for the help!

I am trying to create a 3D model view with a custom orientation and zoom. I'm hoping to use the shortcut menu: Replace View, Custom View in the shortcut window to get back to my custom view quickly.

I don't have NX 8 available but in NX 9 you can;

Set up the view orientation you want and then select Menu- view-operation-save-as Enter the name for your custom view

the next time you select the Custom View dialog the saved view will be on the list

Set the view to your desired zoom and orientation then go to view -> operation -> save as... and give the view a custom name.

Also, you can generate other views from your custom view. In other words, if you want your new view to be considered the "top" view, you can create a new view set and generate the "front", "right", "isometric", etc based on your new view. To add a view set, right click on the "model views" in the part navigator and choose "add view set". Pick your custom view as the "base view" and select which views you would like to generate based on your new view.

Thank you, cowski & joycejo.

Unfortunately there is no SAVE AS option available.

i.e.
view->operation->*no "save as" option

Open the "roles" palette and choose one with "full menus" (I recommend "advanced with full menus"). If you are using the "essentials" role, it "helpfully" hides useful functionality from you.

Be aware that when changing your role, you may lose toolbar customizations that you have done.

cowski, Thank you!!! That did it!!!!!

I will need to customize my toolbars again, but it is worth it!
