Hi,
Siemens PLM is developing NX 8.5.
NX 8 will be compatible with NX 8.5 or NX 8.5 will open NX 8 files but not viceversa ?

Thank you...

Using NX 8 and TC8.3

If you ignore the 'format' of the numbers and simply think of NX 8.5 like ANY other 'major' release, as it was with NX 5.0, NX 6.0, NX 7.0, NX 7.5 and NX 8.0, you will not have any problems.

Now officially you NEVER actually heard me talk about NX 8.5 as if it really existed, right ;-)

Hi John,
Is there any non official date :) for the release of NX8.5?
I am planning on a February deployment of Teamcenter 9.1 and NX8.0
But if I only need to hold back a couple on months, then it may be better to hold off. Or should I take this off-line and discuss with our SiemensPLM rep.

Thanks

For the last several years, the period of time between major releases has been approximately 12 months, give or take a month.

Do I need to say anything more?

NX4.0.4MP10, NX5.0.0->5.0.6, NX6.0.0->NX6.0.5, NX7.0.0->NX7.0.1 & NX7.5.0.32-> NX7.5.4.4, Beta NX8.0.0.25

If you read carefully, the NX 8.0 releases notes actually contains TWO different statements about the move to 64-bit only versions of NX. One of these statements is accurate, the other is not. I think there will be some clarification in the release notes for NX 8.0.1.6.

Th image posted states that NX9 will only be supported on 64-bit hardware. It also says that NX8 will be the last supported on 32-bit on Windows.
