NX 8.5 Translators

When I try to run any of the NX translators from the start menu, I receive an error to do with java runtime enviroment and its location, see attached image. What settings do I need to agjust in NX?

Do you have JAVA installed? Installing NX will NOT automatically install JAVA.

I have jre1.8.0_40 installed, what should the line in ugii_env.dat look like?

You need to set your UGII_JAVA_HOME = C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_31 Enviroment variable. Please revise the jre1.8.0_31 to your proper Java.

Thanks, But everytime I try to start the translator the cmd screen blinks, I managed to get the attached screenshot of the cmd window.

"One more thing to consider..."

If the release notes for your NX version say Java 1.7 then before calling GTAC I would try use JAVA 1.7 of the same architecture (32/64 bit) as NX.

I have seen where upgrading to Java 1.8 and then Oracle post-installation "removing old Java versions" has removed the 1.7 Java version that older NX installations expected. (The message about meeting the minimum is correct (but it is not the entire expectation.))
