When I create a vertical/horizontal dimension, it will automaically center the dimension. Unless I add upper/lower or right/left text to the dimension, I can't seem to find a method of pulling the dimension out of being automatically centered. In the last version, it was easily done thru the dimension style editor. How is it done in 9?

Right click dimension and choose 'settings'; in the line/arrow -> arrowhead -> workflow section turn on/off the 'automatic orientation' option.

What if I want to change it in my customer defaults->drafting->customize standard??

In our Customer Defaults, I go to Drafting - Annotation --- then click the "Dimensions" tab. At the top of that is a drop down that looks like the old version setting. The hand symhbol allows you to manually place dimensions.

Hope thats what you are looking for.
