Hi,
I read that CGM kernel is implementing GPU solution.
What is GPU computing ?
Parasolid is looking to this future prospective ?

Thank you...

However I have no idea what you mean by a "CGM kernel"? CGM standards for 'Computer Graphics Metafile', which is a 2D digital document standard used either as is, or as an intermediate exchange format for other applications. For example, NX uses CGM as the interface to Plotting, Printing and PDF document formatting.

Sorry about the last post, I'm still getting used to how the linking works:

What is GPU Computing?

And I noticed that I missed the last question...

I'm not sure how Parasolid would play into this since GPU's are GRAPHICS drivers and Parasolid is a geometry engine.

OK, I just found something on that so-called 'CGM Kernel', which I assume stands for 'Catia Geometric Modeler' or something close to that. Is this what you're talking about? If so, what does that have to do with GPU's? And BTW, if what you've you read came from a a blog entry written by one 'Jon Bonker', from what I've heard, he's not always noted for his 'accuracy' nor his 'neutrality'.

John,
yes I'm talking about Catia kernel, your competitor in CAD application.
GPU solution, as described in the article is used in lot of FEM application.
The benefit is clear.
So the Spatial team (who develop ACIS and CGM kernel), are implementing this solution inher kernel.
An example is the cloud point import and some array.
Said that, I asked if Parasolid team are at the same pint, implement GPU computation in the they kernel to speed up the unwinding of certain features.

Thank you...
