I am on NX1884, and working on an assembly drawing.
In the assembly model file I have the components in specific layers, based on what they are used for.
When I created the drawing, the drawing file did not inherit the layers the components are in, in the model file. They are all in the work layer.
Back in the old days there was a way to set the layer you want to utilize for the models when importing the model to the drawing file, either the work layer or existing layers.
I do not see any setting like that.
Is there a way that I can set my drawing file to inherit the layers from the model file ?

I found it.
In the assembly tree click on the model file -> properties
Then synchronize the layers from that file.

Jerry, - Open you eyes ! :)
- The setting you look for is the second option from the top in the dialog you show above.
and also the last ( Lowest) option in the add component dialog.

The sync-layers is only needed when you make layer changes in the piece part and want these to ripple upwards.

Tomas
