They were using NX-3 and have variously rolled out NX-5 depending where in the world you are and what division you're working with. They had been fits and starts and delays throughout the course of 2008 so it becomes difficult to know who was using what.

Cheers

Befuddled,

If you're a supplier to GM, you should probably get registered so you can find this information at gmsupplypower.com. The GEES Helpdesk should be able to assist you. Here's their number:
1-888-238-1119, or send an email to geescallcenter@eds.com.

Also, here are the last 2 Blockpoint notifications from gmsupplypower.com:

GM Suppliers who are design release responsible or exchange data with General Motors are required to stay in line with the current GM Software versions.

The software will be made available on GTAC by December 6th.

The GM Supplier Bill of Materials along with the installation document for this PRC is attached to this posting.

There are only three documents that the actual content changed from the last event (CAD2008-11), the GM Toolkit install instructions, Supplier BOM and changes to the sample gmlaunch.dat file which are documented in the comments section of the file.

A GM Supplier Bill of Materials will be released from the
GM Supply Power website ( When the
release date is scheduled, this notification will be updated.

* As GM Supplier requirements are updated, they will be communicated via GM Supply Power.

** If GM Regional Site timing and/or Wave assignments change, this notification will be updated.

GM Suppliers who are design release responsible or exchange data with General Motors are required to migrate in coordination with GM.

As we prepare our internal migration, we want to ensure that all suppliers are aware of their responsibility to use only the specified version of the software. Because of the lack of backward compatibility it is very important that you remain coordinated with the version that is used by the GM unit(s) to which you supply goods/services. There can be as much of a problem by moving too soon as there would be by moving too late.

More information will be posted on the GM Supply Power website ( as it becomes available. Questions related to general TeamCenter product information and TcAE / UG NX licensing should be directed to Siemens PLM/UGS Solutions (

Some people are like slinkies....they don't really have a purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

They were scheduled to migrate to NX5 in early October. With their finances in trouble they pushed it back. I would not be surprised if it's not pushed back again to save money.

If they push back far enough maybe they'll go right to NX6 or later.

I am looking forward to the day I can stop working on NX3.
