NX document types not autoswitching to appropriate NX application 1

NX 6.
In OOTB default NX when I open a model part, NX automatically switches to the Modeling application.
When I open a sheet metal part, NX automatically switchs to the Sheet Metal application.
Open a drawing, NX automatically switches to Drafting application.

Now, we have a business custom packaged version of NX 6 which does not behave this way. When I open a part, it stays at Gateway and I have to switch to the appropriate application. Is there a setting in customer defaults or elsewhere where I can change to the behavior to the OOTB default? I believe OOTB default is auto switch to the application from where the file was last saved from.

Go to...

Customer Defaults -> Gateway -> General

...and the 4th item from the bottom is the option 'Enter Application where File was Last Saved'. Make sure that it's toggled ON. Also note that if you place yoru cursor over the 'instant help' icon to the right of the option you will see an explanation of the option as well as some caveats.
