Is it possible to rename an explosion in NX assemblies (not in drafting)?

Thanks,
Jeff

An 'Explosion' is actually created as a Model View in your Assembly file. Activating an 'Explosion' is simply making it the active or 'Work' view.

Therefore, like any Model View, you simply open the Part Navigtor, expand the item titled 'Model Views' and you will see your Exploded View(s) listed along with the rest of the views in your file. Just select (hold down MB1 until you drop into the name edit mode) and enter a new name.

John,

When I expand my model views in Part Navigator I don't see the names of any of the explosions listed. Do I need to toggle something else on?

Jeff

Explosions work on an existing view, they do not automatically create a new view. If you created an explosion in the "top" view, you can toggle the explosion on or off for the top view. I recommend creating a new view and using it exclusively for the explosion, it is just easier to work with that way and keep track of that way.

So I guess there is no way to rename the explosion then?

Jeff

That's correct, all you can do is rename the views which you saved with the explosion enabled.
