NX Freezes more frequently when using Borrowed License

Hi All,

We are seeing Freezing issue with NX when on Borrowed license. Does this happens across the world?

We have updated the graphics card driver, we are using Siemens Certified Graphics card. Network bandwith and latency is well within Siemens recommendations. Updated the NX version to NX1892.

Issues goes away when using network license. Very interesting issue..

Have you checked the NX and FlexLM log files?

I think this is a question for GTAC.
i have never been able to find a flexlm log on the borrowing computer, on the other hand i haven't looked that deep into it.

Network bandwith and latency is well within Siemens recommendations.

Which Network are you talking about? Because if you have access to your company network, there is no need to borrow a license (in my opinion)

Hi Ronald,

Some of our people wanted to work offline , so they borrowed the license. But when they connect to the network, NX starts to freeze. I will check with GTAC on this..

Hi All,

Update on this. GTAC came back and said its a known issue and would be fixed in NX1926 release. I hope they backport the fix so people using NX1899 or lesser version can be benefitted..

Are your colleagues "jumping in and out" from the network, but want to keep the license borrowed full time ?
I have some users that used to borrow licenses because they had network issues, and one guy who thought that a borrowed license was how NX should be used, the concept of a active license server was new to him.
