NX - how can I load only components of the chosen arrangement?

Hello everybody!

I am using Moldwizard with NX6.
I am using assembly arrangements to filter out all the components I do not need in view. Since I have to export to step (or iges) only some parts of the whole assembly, I realised that during export everything that is loaded is exported.
I am now asking: is there a way to load (and then export) only what I need, which is what is shown in my arrangement??

If you are using the external translator or the 'entire part' option in interactive mode, the default behavior is to load the entire assembly before the export. Try switching to the arrangement you need, changing to 'selected objects' (on the 'data to export' tab), and rectangle (or lasso) select around the components you need to export.

thank you cowski.
There is a problem about that, which is that when I use 'selected object' as export method, I lose the names of the parts in the assmebly (and I need those names!)

One workaround would be to save your work, delete components out of your assembly that you don't want to export (you may want to mark the file as 'read only' before you start deleting components just to be safe or create a clone assembly and work on that), perform the export, close the file without saving and reopen it to recover your 'pre-delete' state.

This would be pretty easy if the difference is a few components, but would be tedious if we are talking about 10's or 100's of components that you don't want to export.

And unluckily my case is the second one :(
I have a lot of components I do not want to export and in 4 or 5 different combinations.
