This is probably too much to ask, but just in case it is possible: here goes:

NX7.5+teamcenter 8

I'm currently creating a weld drawing of a quite complicated (50+parts) assembly. Now, in order to make this a bit more clear to myself, I'd like to be able to watch the 3D assembly on one screen, while making the drawing on another.
Preferably this should be available through Teamcenter.

I could export the assembly out of Teamcenter and open it in non-TC NX, but that's a bit cumbersome.

Is there another way?

There's nothing prevently you from running two NX sessions at the same time, but NX does not support running a single session with multiple windows showing different part files or applications in each window.

The other option would be to use the viewer in TC to view your model while NX is doing the detail drawing.

Thx looslib, I might give that a shot.

@John: how can I open NX twice out of teamcenter? If I just open NX, it's not connected with our database.

and on a sidenote: why is there a 'cascade', 'tile horizontally' and 'tile vertally' option if it is not supported? Or can this be used for something else?

You'll have to edit the "start_ugmanager.bat" file, in your Teamcenter client install. This is what I did at a previous job, it should make more sense when you look at your file. Note, if you are looking at the same file in both sessions, and save in the wrong one...that would be bad. Be careful!
