NX lathe beginner questions

We have a lathe with automatic bar feeder. What is the proper way to make NX7 program.

Should i design blank as long as part, or should it be longer - as real one?

If so, how to make partoff operation?
How to deal with custom commands for barfeeder.

I would appreciate if someone could post example of programming simple parts on 2,5 axis lathe.

If you are new to turning, start with the turning and mill/turn tutorials, accessible from the CAM Express home page.

Go to gateway, select the cam express role, exit and restart NX. On the web brouser tab in the resource bar, you should see the CAM EXPRESS page with several tutorials at the bottom.

There are also some examples in the mach/samples folder.

Once you use the tutorials you will find that a Teach Mode operation will be the one to use for Bar Feed and Cutoff Operations.
