NX manufacturing with Teamcenter

We recently got Teamcenter 8.1 and have been using it primarly for our design and drafting group. We would like the programing group to start using it as well. I was courious if any one else has been successfull in intergrating the programing side into teamcenter and if so if they could help shed some light on this barely documented area. Lessons learned, instructions...anything.
Is it nessecary to use Part Planner?

I am having trouble with importing the post into TC... do I need to create items prior to the import?

Is CAM general the way to go and just use the post/User events from the native MACH directory?
