Hello,

I am currently running NX 9.0.2.5. In different forums I've seen reference to revision C and revision K of version 9.0.2.5. I can't find anything about what revision of NX I am running, but I've had a customer request revision K. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between different revisions, how I can find which revision I am running and how/where I can switch/upgrade to a different revision.

Thanks.

Huh Never heard of NX versions refered to by letters, I think the system is Full Release, Maintainence Release, and Maintainence Packs.

You are running Maintenance Release 9.0.2 for which there are 6 mp´s (Maintainece Packs) available for download from the GTAC file server.

To find out exactly what version of nx you are running go to

File -> Help -> About NX -> System Information

I agree with petulf, NX versions are numbered, no letters involved.

However, there is a utility called "NXCustom" that helps with the configuration of NX. It is maintained by a Siemens employee and updates are referred to with revision letters. If you are trying to duplicate your customer's NX setup it may help to have the same version of NXcustom as the customer; but NXcustom is NOT required to get good files to your customer.

Here is the link to the NX 10 version of NXCustom; if you poke around the Siemens community site you should be able to find the NX9 version as well.

Edit: I should note that NXCustom is not supported by Siemens, but was created by an employee to make the administration of NX easier. It is a collection of scripts to help maintain (potentially multiple different) NX configurations.

It might be a custom NX environment. I'm running a GM environment and have the revision letter. See attached.

Ah learn something new everyday, makes sense that there would be customer specific patch levels.

Thank you for your replies. While, based on my knowledge of NX, I agree with petulf and cowski, I believe that what I am after is a custom NX environment as Xwheelguy said. Now, does anyone know how one gets these custom patches? My only guess is the customer...

Which customer is asking you for rev K ?
GM ?

Check your syslog - there should be a note of the exact release and maintenance pack and date, if applicable.
For example:
NX 10.0.3.5 MP6, 09Jun16. See Maintenance Pack letter for detailed list of fixes.

OP,

The last I knew (which has been back around NX5), all GM files were available from GTAC except for possibly the GM Supplier Toolkit (I cannot recall for sure if the toolkit was on GTAC or on gmsupplypower.com). With that said, once you install the latest versions of both NX (the latest GM-approved MP) and the GM supplier toolkit, check your About to see if you get the correct revision. You can also call GEES (GM helpdesk) and ask them where to get all the files.
