NX Trim Curve in Drafting

You can no longer Trim Curve in Drafting as far as we can tell in our newly-upgraded NX12. I can understand NX pushing geometry creation in Modeling as a principle. But we have a lot of legacy layouts and schematics that have curves in Drafting that cannot be edited (trimmed) for revisions. This is frustrating to many users here who work with old drawings in "Services."

Any workarounds? Legacy Env Var that can be added?
Any chance NX could turn this functionality back on?
Really, what is the harm in letting that continue to work?

Do a search for it with your Command Finder. It may be in there someplace that you cannot see.

Also, the Basic Curves dialog, which is available in both Modeling and Drafting, still has a Trim Curve command - and it's the version prior to the NX11 "improvements". Again, Command Finder is your friend.

EDIT: Note that I'm not using NX12 but NX11 and Trim Curve IS available on the Basic Curves dialog in NX11.0.1.11 - apparently it was removed in NX12 and restored in NX12.0.2.

Thanks
It does not work from Basic Curves either. I spoke to GTAC.
The re-enabled it in 12.0.2

If you go to the Customize search for your Ribbon, you can type in: Legacy. Add that to your ribbon.

That is the current work around.

Sorry - figured you'd see the version I'm using isn't NX12 in my signature. Edited my post for version specifics & thanks for the clarification.

Siemens must have made the mistake of taking it out in NX12, received complaints and put it back. Basic Curves, while probably not easy to find for newer users, shouldn't be changing anytime soon unless Siemens catches onto the difference between the Trim Curve commands and makes adjustments there. With that said, it works as I stated in NX11.0.1.11 and should in older versions.

Siemens is getting too pushy with the usage of Sketcher in Drafting, IMO. They certainly don't approach curves in Modeling in the same manner as Drafting.

a couple of years ago when Siemens started this "sketchification" of drafting, i was pretty mad since i do not think a drawing border should be a sketch.
then later Siemens implemented the Border feature and i also realized i could dump the sketch by export it as CGM and then re-import the border.
now i think i have heard that the good old "stretch curve" is on the list for termination... , a command i used frequently to move notes ( in the drawing border) " a nudge".

Tomas
