I do not have experience with sketches on a drawing, but I have a situation where I would like to use it.
Can I associate the sketch curves on the drawing to the edges of a drawing view, or to the curves of a section view ?
I am working on a drawing of the machined casting and I want to show (in phantom curves on one of the views) the machining stock added to the casting. I know there are better ways to accomplish utilizing the two solid bodies, but for now this is the way that I need to do it.

Before you start sketching, select the view, RMB , Active Sketch view.
then the curves will be drawn in the view, in the scale of that view, and you can snap and constrain to existing objects.

In previous versions, before NX8.5 i think, one needed to in the Preferences toggle on "Extracted Edges" for the drawing views to be able to snap.
This option is no more.

Tomas
