Ha All,

Currently i'm using the stand alone model/draft setup in native NX10. This because revisions are more easily to manage (in my opinion).

The thing is that the assemblies i'm working with get larger and larger and update times are rising. I think it's better to switch to de MM setup. This because the weight of the drafts is then excluded.

This still leaves the headache when performing a revision (model and draft)

Does anybody have a guideline of a number of steps which make the revision ore cloning more easy to manage.

1. NX 10 Native
2. Model and draft are in same dir.
3. draft has the standard _dwg* addition
...

Kind regards,

Lars

Not exactly sure what your asking.

Are you cloning an entire design with drafting files into another folder for an upward revision?

If so, you make a Clone Assembly Part where in you load the entire directory of your parts.
Then clone that assembly into the the new folder.

Under Clone:
I usually use the renaming function "replace"
EX: Base string = R1
Replace String = R2

Results =
XXX1-R1.prt becomes XXX1-R2.prt

Dave,

What happens to the drafts ?

Are they included ?

No,

If you want to achieve that you should:

- Add your assembly "Add Assembly".

- Afterwards, add drawings with the button "Add Part". You only be able to add drawing one by one. If you have so many that it will be an exhausting task, you can create a new assembly which contains the assembly and drawings.

Airin,

Thanx for the reply a while ago. When I add an _dwg1 part to the assembly also the assembly referenced by the draft is inserted.

Is this the way it works or am I missing something?

Kind Regards,

Lars
