My best guess about how Detect Primitives works is that it makes a second copy of your facet body with the color codes included. I'm guessing at that, because now there are two. One of them looks color coded during the selection process and one does not. Here is my problem: when I look for a function to undo color coding I cannot find one. When I hide the single facet body that appears color coded during selection, the remaining surface is still color coded. I can make it transluscent, which is helpful for seeing wireframes, but the color codes make it difficult to spot edges that weren't detected as primitives.
