Hi,

Iam curious to know if TC12 and NX1888 need ethernet ipv4 or ipv6 switch when connecting to PC or Windows laptop? Our IT people say they cannot open up ipv4 port. we have to use ipv6 port.

I'm also curious about this. TC nominally supports IPv6, but without NX intergration that's pretty useless.

Hi Railleur,

You mean to say that NXmanager or NX only works on ipv4? I read that TC can work on ipv6.

In this modern era, why cannot NX work on ipV6? What is Siemens doing to fix this issue?

I would be higly surprised if NX wasn't able to work with IPv6

Who said that there was an issue?

Checked on GTAC site and I can't find any posts about this.
Also in the release documents there is no mention about any internet protocol.

It confirms NX licensing works on iPv6

Now that is something else than you have mentioned before...[wink]
NX licensing is going through FlexLM. A third party application.
If there would have been a problem with that application, not able to work with IPv6, then Teamcenter (using the same license server) also wouldn't have been able to function.

Ronald, thanks for clarifying. I'm sure NX & TC both access IPv6 networking just fine, it's a matter of the license server configuration.

OP, thanks for sharing the GTAC document! I've passed it on to my organization's TC admin.
