Hi There,

Although professionally I'm NX6 now, at home for general messing arond and homework I'm running an NX2 version of the software.

I found an iges file on the web for the Yamaha R1 engine, and as I've got a little project on the go which uses it, I'd really like to import it into NX2.

When I go to import the iges (File / import / iges file ), I am getting an error message saying "Could not find translator image. This may be due to incorrectly set environment variables".

After a search on here, I found this thread http://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=229568&page=9, which allowed me to find the ugii_env.dat file, which seems to contain the variables, but in all honesty am non the wiser really.

Can any make some suggestions for me to try and correct this? NX2 running on XP

Thanks.....

Sounds more like that the Translator software was never installed. Even if your license file includes IGES, if the install was done using the Custom option or if the files were simply copied over onto your home system, it's possible that the IGES software, which is a separate executable from NX, might not have been installed properly, if at all.

First thing you should do is open the folder where NX is installed and see if an 'IGES' folder is found there. If it is there, then go to the 'ugii_env.dat' file and make sure that the variable 'IGES_DIR=' is pointing to that folder. If installed properly, this line should read as:

IGES_DIR=${UGII_BASE_DIR}\iges\
