Hi guys!
My company is currently moving to Unigraphics NX2 according to the mother company. I allready installed UG on 3 workstations, and every had a same problem: if the size of part is bigger than approx.200mm, the graphics becomes corrupt in a strange way. It seems like there is invisible "cutting plane", which cuts bigger parts, so I can look into the solid like into thin feature (shell..), the part of model which exceeds this invisible "cutting plane", is completely not displayed. When I turn model, it is dynamically cutted. UG is practically unusable with this bug. I allready tried 3 different subversions of NX2, graphics cards Geforce FX5200 and Radeon 9600PRO, different driver versions and packs (Forceware, original NX drivers..). The technician in my mother company says that Nvidia cards were recommended by EDS, so I dont know.. I know these are low budget ones, but mother company seems to have not such a problem with same hardware..
any ideas? please help...

1. The graphics cards you have are not workstation graphics cards, they are gaming cards. I have a Radeon 9800 Pro that does work, but it is still not a certified graphics card. See this web page for UG certification info:

2. The clipping of the display is a setting in UG and the clipping planes can be 'resized/ to allow you to see the full model.

3. Have you had any training in UG? It isn't the type of software that you just install and efficiently create parts with.

Thanx guys, the solution was more simple than I thought :)
I know, that these are gaming cards, I wonder why mother company has equipped us with such ones. (BTW, Radeon 9800 Pro is also ;) )Our workstations have to be prepared for future work with unigraphics. BTW, they are still trying to stay at their current CAD system HAN CAD 400, because they found many bugs in UG that made it practically hardly usable for our purpose. As far as I know the bugs are mainly concerning the sheet metal functions and they are working together with EDS to solve the problem..
We take a training next month, but I already started with few colleagues to make a self-training with some student manuals. But then we come to this "clipping problem". I already worked with lot of 3D CAD systems like Pro/E, Solid Works and Solid Edge and it seems that UG is really a bit tougher to learn..

Thanx again Ben and Henry, I appreciate your kind answer.
God bless.

Pro/E, Solid Works & Solid Edge are more of what some might argueably call mid-range CAD systems, whereas Catia, IDEAS & UG are sometimes referred to as high-end CAD. Thinking in those terms, I would expect the high-end CAD a bit more difficult to learn.

I've seen similar problems with models on UGV18 which were usually solved by doing a ctrl+f Fit To Screen or setting model view to trimetric which will usually make this problem disappear.

I could be wrong but just thought I'd ask if you had tried this already.
