hi

i'm interested in does anyone faced this problem and is there a solution?

i'm using nx3 for my work but 3 days ago i installed sw2005 on my home pc. unfortunately sw2005 associated with .prt files and now i don't see preview of my parts in windows explorer (thumbnails view). i see the nx3 icon for .prt files.

i restored nx3 association with .prt files, the problem persists although.

any idea?

I think that the preview option would have been stored in the registry. By re-associating the .prt with UG all you have done is change which program is launched and not put the problem right.

You could re-install ug.
This might re-write the relevant registry entries

You could also try and edit the registry manually.
You would need to find out which section of your registry has been changed and then you would need to know what to change it back to.
You have to be carefull though as messing with the registry can lead to windows not running full stop.

If all else fails re-install windows completely. Install sw2005 first then install ug nx3 after. That way ug entries wouldn't be messed up by sw2005. This would be a last resort though.

I can't guarantee there isn't an easier option.
