NX3 MODELING

What is the best way to create a blank on an aircraft part? I am using NX3! I have added the part model to look at. I want the blank so i can cut the planes for tool tabs.

When you say 'blank', are talking about the raw stock or billet from which this part would be machined? If that is the case, your best bet might be to just create a Sketch of the general shape around the perimeter of the model and then just extrude a shape the appropriate thickness.
