Prior to NX4, there was a drafting toolbar called "Annotation Placement". It would pop up automatically when you created a GDT label. The options in the toolbar would allow you to hang a feature frame on an extension line (instead of a leader). I can't find this option in NX4. Does anyone know where it is?

The Annotation Placement toolbar still exists. You probably need to switch to Advanced Role with Full Menus.

If that doesn't do the trick, bring up the Annotation Editor as if you were going to place some text, then right click to the right near the Help pulldown (but not ON it) and make sure the Annotation Placement toolbar is checked ON.

FOUND IT! The only time the Annotation Placement toolbar shows in the "Customize" menu is when you have the Annotation Editor up, so you can't activate it at any other time.

THANKS!

Correct....and that's not the only toolbar that behaves this way. The Selection Intent toolbar behaves the same way. All toolbars that "popup" after choosing a command will not appear in the Customize list unless they are active....similar to the way Drafting toolbars not appearing in the Customize list when you're in Modeling.

Note that in NX 5 ALL of the so-called selection 'tools', which will include selection intent, snap point, annotation placement, etc, will now be located on a special 'toolbar' that will always be visible. Now the various options and icons may appear and disappear as they are needed and relevant, but their location will be fixed so that you will always know exactly where to go to select an option.
