I've noticed that replacing a reference (ie datum plane or axis) and replacing it with another causes all the features that are dimensioned to that reference to lose all their dimensional contraints.
Example: I have a casting with 200+ features, built on default datum planes A B and C. Due to a design change, I need to make a new datum A, and I call it "NEW_A".
I build the new datum, and then right click on the original datum in the model tree and select 'Replace' and follow the requestor to replace the original datum with the new datum.
The reroute (well, that's what they call it in Pro/E) proceeds as expected - all the children are now referencing the new datum. However, all the dimensions to the new datum in the children are deleted. I now have to go through hundreds of features and re-do the dimensions.
Any thoughts on this? I would not expect this to be the desired behavior.
Thanks for any comments,
Ed
