Can anyone shed light on how one can apply a spatial load distribution in Advanced Simulation?

For instance, could I create a function, or a table of force vs position, and apply this distributed load down a curve corresponding to the function or table?

for instance, the "hydrostatic load" boundary condition invokes a pressure along a face; but can one create an arbitrary pressure or force function?

The short answer is you can't in NX5. The long answer is that you probably can if you manually edit the input deck.

In NX 6 you can define spatially varying loads, so the easy answer to your question is that you need to upgrade to NX 6 if you want to do this.

Is there an updated datasheet or brochure available describing in detail the feature set of NX6? The "NX Advanced Simulation Fact Sheet" on Siemens' website seems to be pertinent to NX4...

sorry, I meant an updated datasheet describing Advanced Simulation in NX6, not the NX6 package in general.

What you are looking for can be found in the NX6 documentation. I looked to see if I could find information anywhere else about the new features in Advanced Simulation and I could not find anything.
