Hello

My first time posting on these forums, although i have done plenty of reading here in the past,

We have NX5 installed across several systems, all currently at 5.0.0.25, i have downloaded mp1 and mp2 from the support website and installed to one system.

The latest version on the support web site is 5.0.6.3 mp7

With the requirments of each of the maintenacne packs i can see no way of getting from 5.0.0.25.mp2 to 5.0.6.3.mp7

Is this possible or do i stop where i am?

I have scanned some 40odd pages of posts before posting so if this question has already been asked/answered i apologies.

Thanks
Keith

First thing you need to do is perform a normal Maintenance Release update to NX 5.0.6.3 (you do NOT need to install any other intermediate releases, you can go directly to 5.0.6.3 as this is a super-set of all of the maintenance releases).

Now once that is done, you need to consider IF YOU REALLY NEED TO INSTALL any additional MP's (and these will only be MP's specifically designated for NX 5.0.6.3). Now the reason I'm wording my reply in this manner is because MP's should ONLY be installed if they address a specific bug that you KNOW you're encountering. This is different that MR's (Maintenance RELEASES) as they should always be installed when they become available, but MP's (Maintenance Patches) should ONLY be installed if they address a known issue which you've experienced. It's generally best to not automatically install every MP, but rather you should wait for the next MR unless there is something that you need that was fixed in an MP. All MP's get rolled-up into the next MR and the MP's start over.

Anyway, I hope that's clear.

Very helpfull reply,

I had, until just 5 mins beofre your reply, been missing the download folder for maintenacne release and only seeing the maintenacne packs, thats why i could not figure out how to get from 5.0.0.25 to 5.0.6.3.

Interesting point about only installing the MP if needed.
We are having issues that i have read are fixed by MP's at some stage, but as there are 32 of them from our current install level to the top i think i will update to 5.0.6.3 maintenacne release and see how it goes.

Thanks
