I am new to NX but am learning it fast, but I know there has to be a way to do essentially what Solidworks does in re: various configurations of the same part, I just can't figure out where I should be looking for the feature (ie: what it is called, what tool, menu item etc).

For instance, I have a linear bearing track I have constructed with a range of parameters, everything is completely adjustable, scaleable etc. How do I maintain several configurations of the same part, so that when I bring it into an assembly I can choose which version I want, or ideally have multiple versions of the same part?

In NX this is a function called 'Assembly Arrangements'.

You can have as many arrangements as you wish in each Assembly and each can have unique content, in terms of which Components are included or excluded, as shown in the example below where I have an assembly of a hand-crank which can have one of 3 different style hand-wheels...

...or you can have unique Constraints, which allows you to have multiple positions, as shown in the example below where I show the same valve assembly, but one illustration with valve Closed and in the other with it Open...

Anyway, check out the documentation and with my examples as inspiration, you should have no problems getting to understand how this all works.

Thanks, I am sure this is all I need to get me on the right track!
