Hi guys:

I want to know how can I customize NX6 updated,
I want to do this. The point is that I want to customize
the machines, tools, tools holders and machining database
specifically for this machines.
Please, can you explain me step by step, because I am new user on NXCAM module.
Mazak variaxis----Iscar tool,wnt,Iscar----tool holders----
---machining_knowledge_database.dat for this Mazak

Hermle----Ceratizit tool,wnt,dormer tools----tool holders----
---machining_knowledge_database.dat for this Hermle machine

Yasda----Stock, Kraiser, Iscar, Ceratizi---tool holders---
-------machining_knowledge_database.dat for this Yasda machine

Another thing, is that I want to customize; tools, tools
holders and machining knowledge database separatelly. For example

tool_database_1.dat---holder_database_1.dat---machining_knowledge_1.dat

tool_database_2.dat---holder_database_2.dat---machining_knowledge_2.dat

tool_database_3.dat---holder_database_3.dat---machining_knowledge_3.dat

Please explain me how can I do this two customizations on NX6 updated. I am recent user on NX, I have been with other CAD softwares before.

Thanks.

berri,

Maybe it's possible to perhaps rename/rearrange the categories in tool_databse.dat to look something like this when you call up a tool:

- Hermle
-End Mill (perhaps by brand and type)
-Face Mill
-Drill
-etc...

- Mazak
-End Mill
-Face Mill
-etc...

No idea how that would then link to the materials database but... In my eye, it would be file management chore to keep separate libraries for different machines. That is until Siemens finally comes up with a user friendly graphical tool database app. As an example look at the Vericut tool builder app. Now that would be nice.
