NX6 freezes in edit excel familie sheet

Hello,
when im trying to edit the familie sheet from Tools -> Part Families and 'edit', it freezes:
when i click on edit, NX6 turnes grey, as in im in excel, but excel doesn't show.. then i have to shut it down with task manager.

is this is a common problem or does anyone know the solution?

2010, I can use the add in if i create them but I can't edit them..

Can you provide a snippet from your logfile? If you cant save them via the help menu, you can find it in your temp folder.

Can i still find it when it shuts down? how do i find it in the temp folder? what name does it have?

username+random number . syslog

just sort the files in c:\temp on Date modified on it should be on top.
Look into the file with notepad and just save as the last lines of the log file, you will see when the error is occurring.

If you are working with Teamcenter you will also see tc.... .syslog don't need that one.

You can check where the log file is situated, open nx, open a part, go to Help menu, open nx log file on the top of the file you will see ***c c:\temp\username+randomnumber.syslog
It's possible that the logfile is in c:\user\localsettings\.....
