NX6 parts list 1

A couple questions about NX6 assemblies parts list. We use master model.

On my drawing I have the basic parts list with the Item, Part Number, and Qty columns.
How do I add an additional column with the part name in it. The part name comes will from the component's part attributes.

Where do the parts list defaults come from? Are they in the customers defaults someplace? if they are, I can't find them. I want to set the height of each row, and sizes of the columns.

I have been on NX (and unigraphics) for a long time, but it has been many years since I needed to set-up a parts list and I think I am trying to do it an old way and it isn't working.

Adding columns is done by selecting a column in the parts list that you have and then selecting insert under MB3, then column to the left or to the right. It is as always a little gesture sensitive until you get used to it. Adding contents to the column is done by again selecting the column and again under MB3 editing the style. When you have the column selected properly the style panel will include a tab for the column from where you can select any number of attributes to populate it with. Look for the field called attribute name and then click on the return arrow alongside it to pull down a list of what's available.

As for templates there are default .pax files shipped with NX that you could use and edit. You could just create part files with various parts lists predefined within them in a directory and use Preferences>Palettes then pick the icon across the top for Open Directory and Palette, (I suggest you'll need to follow the tool tips).

However! What I do is to add the parts lists to my drawing templates because I think that it is just more convenient that way.
