I'm having a trouble with replacing a component in an assembly drawing. I'm trying to replace a sub-assembly with a higher revision of that assembly. (It should have been done when the sub-assembly was revised, but was not.)

When I do a Replace Component and put in the higher rev level, the layers get all messed up in my drawing views. It seems to be putting the components of that sub-assembly on different layers than what there were originally assigned to. Is there a simple way to fix this or will I have to go back through the sub-assembly and reassign each part to the correct layer?

Thanks,
Stephen

Do you know if the replaced component is being put in the work layer ?

Hi-
Currently there are PRs (6712001,6577485) on GTAC concerning an issue with Replace Component->Maintain Layer not working correctly .

SolutionSiemens PLM believes that the problem you reported where layer options were not maintained in higher level assemblies when replacing a component, will be resolved by code changes made to the upcoming

Two solutions we have discovered:

One way to fix it is to preload the latest released file, then open the assembly (not very practical).

A second way is to use Refresh Teamcenter Integration.
