One of my coworkers tried to expand a detail view…………….
But it looks like NX Drawing Detail View does not have this option.
Any particular reason for that?
Thanks!

Yes, you have to RMC on that view, and toggle Make Independent (or worded something like that)

Actually what you need to toggle is Convert to Independent Detail

What is the purpose of expand a drawing view. Any how it is a 2D representation, am i right?

Actually it's not, but at one time it was the only way to add explicit curves to a Drawing view (this was before we introduced the Sketcher tool for use while working in a Drawing).

John, if you still read this thread,
Do not remove the option of expanding the drafting views, it's in some cases a great help in problem solving. ( Or rather finding the reason for problems.)

I doubt that anyone is contemplating removing this capability. I was just commenting on the fact that it no longer plays as key a role as it once did, and besides, I was sort of putting in a 'plug' for using the Sketcher to define those extra curves one might need to add to a Drawing.
