I have recently installed NX7 and I've noticed different behavior with space navigator. For one, SN toolbar no longer loads on screen inside UG. Tried downloading latest drivers and no difference. Also inside sketch mode SN no longer locks in XY plane but allows spin/role. Is there an NX setting for this? Can't contact 3d because I bought personal edition.
May have to upgrade.
Thanks

I think the new drivers changed the sketch setting because I have NX 4 and it no longer locks XY when I am in sketcher. However, you can setup the buttons to turn on/off rotations.

Thanks
I've tried that but I have to turn spin/role back on when out
of sketch mode now. Before, settings automatically switched.
As for what triggered the the change I'm (almost) certain that
change occurred after NX7 install. Guess I should spend the $40. and upgrade. Only reason I cheaped out and bought PE was that I wasn't sure I was coordinated enough to manage two devices.
Now of course can't manage without.

I think you'll need to copy the contents of the "ugalliance" folder (should be the location of UGII_BASE_DIR) to a similar location in the NX7 installation directory.

You may also need to redefine the UGII_3DCONNEXION_LIBRARY variable.

Thanks Phillip
I did notice that the NX6 UGALLIANCE folder had a 3dx folder that NX7 was missing. I copied it in, reloaded nX7 to no effect. Not sure where "UGII_3DCONNEXION_LIBRARY variable" is
located. Also noticed that 3d connection's folder contents end with NX6, even after installing latest drivers. Maybe too soon to support NX7.

I have the same issue with 3DConnexion's Space Explorer. Originally I uninstalled the older driver, installed the latest v3-8-1, since the devices buttons weren't working in NX7 (NX7 support is included in that driver version), and rebooted.
Now my buttons work, but the sketcher still defaults to a 3D movement. I end up having to "Orient View to Sketch" then pressing [2D] on the device every time I enter sketcher. Not a big deal, but definately a nuisance.
