NX8 Drafting: Can't dimension angles using existing dimensions

Hi guys!

I've been working in NX8 for a couple of weeks, and I noticed that I can't dimension angles using existing dimensions like I used to in NX6.

I have 2 images, the one with blue dimensions was created in NX6 and the one with maroon dimensions in NX8. I want to make the 10° dimension look like in the NX6 version, referenced to the 9,59 dimension instead of the centerline.

To make the angular dimension I select the line of my part and the line of the 9,59 dimension, but it references to the centerline. Does anyone know if there is a way to prevent this from happen?

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure why the behavior is different but as a workaround you can just sketch in a line on top of that extension line and dimension to it.

NX 7.5.4.4, NX 8.0(Evaluating)
Tecnomatix Quality 8.0.1.3

First, I would select the dimension FIRST then the geometry for angles (I always select right to left).

You could also try setting the Line Method setting in the dimension dialog to Vertical Up and first selecting the bottom endpoint of the geometry. After making the first selection, set Line Method back to Line and select the upper end of the line. Drag angle dimension up and place it.

Thanks guys!

It's kinda strange the behavior of my dimensions because I noticed that it is not always, sometimes it referencesw my angle dimension to the existing dimension and sometimes not. What I'm doing is an "edit associativity" and then I select again the dimension I wish to be referenced.

So, I think this is time to end this thread.

Thanks again
