New NX8 user....still struggling with Assembly constraints using position override.
I have an automotive suspension and driveline with many articulations. I really need to find a good tutorial for Posstion override to figure out how to get my assemblies to articulate correctly with the other assemblies and parts in my top level assembly file.
1)Any suggestions for a good printed/video tutorial?
2) I am having a hard time discerning how deep into the assembly do I have to go, right clicking on the mating parts and selecting 'override position', my sub-assemblies are correctly constrianed to articulate the way they should. But, when I right click the part that my sub assm is being constrianed too, and select 'over ride position', it doesn' talways free up the assy enought to articulate correctly? If each sub asm is correctly constrained internal to easch respective sub asm, do I only have to select the immediate part that the sub asm is being constrained to in order to free up the sub asm to move correctly?
What is happening is, I create a sub asm with several parts that articulate, in this sub asm the parts are constrained together correctly and I verify that they move correctly. I add this sub asm to a top level asm and when I constrain the sub asm to other sub asm in the top asm, I am unclear how many downstream parts I need to be right clicking on and selecting 'position overide' in order to get all the sub asm to articulate correctly in the top level ams.
Anyway, I hope I have described this correctly. I am 15 year Catia user, I really miss Catia, becuase Catia was MUCH smarter figuring these constraints out automatically.
Thanks
