NX9 part families enhancement 2

I would like to configure in the spreadsheet part families the material, but I'm not able.
What I need to do to obtain what NX9 has added for managing the material in PF ?

It works exactly as intended. And in fact, the information about how to make it work is right there in the 'Alert' message, where it states, "There are either no named bodies, or all named bodies are being used as density attributes."

What you have to do is to assigned a user-defined name to the solid body (NOT the feature but the body itself) since this Part Family column, as is the 'Density' column, is keyed to the NAME of the solid body. And if there are more than one solid body, you can assign different materials (or densities) to each one since each named Body can have it's own column in the spreadsheet. As alluded to in the 'alert' message, you can either assign a Material OR a Density, but NOT both, to each body in the Part file.

And if you've never assigned a user-defined name to an object before, simply select the object (making sure you're selecting a body and not a feature), press MB3, select the 'Properties' item and in the tab titled 'General', you can enter a name which will be assigned t to the body.

Anyway, give it a try and let us know how it works.

And for those people not yet running NX 9.0, this ability to assign an actual Material in the Part Family table is new in NX 9.0. Prior to NX 9.0 the best that you could do is to just assign the specific density but this would only affect Mass Property calculations but it would NOT set the Material Attribute nor would it set the material designation used by the CAE simulation and analysis tools.
