Hi,

I have some OBJ files that I'm able to open in Creo and view.

Is there anyway I can turn this file into geometry that I can add features to? I don't need it to become a parametric model, however I would at least like to be able to drill a hole through it or round an edge.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Thanks,
Glenn

Never tried an OBJ file, can you solidify it like a STEP or IGES file? If you can then you can add features. Otherwise you might have to create solids using edges and surfaces from the OBJ import as references. OK for prismatic shapes but I suspect the geometry is more complex.

The Help for this program was created in Windows Help format, which depends on a feature that isn't included in this version of Windows.

I can't treat it as a solid or a surface. About all I can do is highlight points say to establish datums... but even then I can't interface with the mesh.

I tried saving it as a STP, however once imported is behaves as a mesh.

I'll see if I can get them to send me the file as a STP.

Thanks,
Glenn
