Given: large room with existing heads up near roof (no drop ceiling), lots of piping and ducts below, + lots and lots of vertical boards hanging (acoustical to absorb noise of manufacturing). These boards are about 24" x 18" and are several feet below structure. The area is Ordinary Hazard, Group II. NFPA 13 does not appear to cover such obstructions as only light hazard is mentioned. I think new heads must be added at or below said boards, ducts, piping, raceways, etc. The problem is that code says heads must be at high points of the structure. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
