Hello Everybody, I just took it and I thought the afternoon section was HARD!!!! I know I missed at least 13 out of 40 questions in the afternoon.

Did any of you happen to take the Oct 2012 PE Exam with the HVAC/Refrigeration Depth?

If so, how did you make out?

That's probably a passing score, if the morning went as well as the afternoon.

I hope so I got a passing score. In the morning part of the test I know that I missed 2 questions. I am fairly certain that I got the rest of them correct. I may have made some minor errors or fell for some of the "gotcha" answers that they put on the exam so I might have missed another 2 or 3 or so in the morning. But, The HVAC afternoon section was VASTLY different than the NCEES practice test. There were a lot of questions that were for VERY specific steam/hydronic system applications and very few phsychrometrics and energy/mass balance problems compared to the NCEES practice test. When I got home after the test I wrote down as much of the problems as I can remember. (about 19 for the afternoon section) I will start to study these in the next couple of weeks. I sure hope you don't have to get 60 or 70 of the 80 questions right to pass.

I don't know if it's the same as when I took it 30 yrs ago, but back then they curved at the state level, which fed into a curve at the national level. I believe 50% score was passing back then. Pretty sad, really.

Hey you guys, I passed the PE exam today! Glad thats over!!

Congrats! Take your new responsibilities seriously!

Yes, I have been reading these threads a lot. I am beginning to understand that it is a serious responsibility.
