This is a common device used in many tasks to take product from the top 1m, mainly to avoid water or dirt which is at the bottom of the tank. Jan 6, 2022 #5 JStephen Mechanical Aug 25, 2004 8,610 Also, try a search for "Oil skimmer pipe", which turns up this item: https://aager.de/project/oil-skimmerI'd say, generally, a floating suction is to withdraw the cleaner oil out of an oil tank, and oil skimmer is to get oil pollutants out of a water tank.
