I have a problem in Acad 14 that "sometimes", not all of the time, an OFFSET line becomes an MLINE rather than a parallel LINE. Is there a variable that causes this to happen? Is there a way to prevent it from happening?

Thanks,
Alex

Hey,
when this happens ... do you mean the 2 lines become ... "grouped"?
Is so, it sounds like an "associative" variable is set on.
Don't know which one but ... I have seen this once or twice.

My solution was to make sure all the "template" files used to create new CAD files were clean and no funky variables were set.

As for the funky file, I just (three times) "burst" everything displayed and then "wblock" the line work out. And "insert" that into a clean file.

A little extreme but I haven't seen this problem ever again.

We've upgraded to AutoCAD 2002 since then .....
