Hello,
I have a model of a garnish. On the b-pillar end, I have a 4 sided slab surface that I thicken, trim, and unite to main body to create a cap on the end. Now to create a tab, I thicken another surface that I have extracted and unparameterized from sheet metal. This thicken for the tab, I intersect with the main body in the area of the end cap. Then I offset to the length of the tab.
Whenever the model regenerates when I am designing other parts of the garnish, sometimes this offset fails. Actually it seems like it fails more often than not.
I checked the Body ID of the faces (end cap as well as the tab face to offset) and it changes. Is this the reason why UG cannot determine which face to offset?
Original thicken end cap face ID 911193 changes to 915825
Same face after unite face ID 914279 changes to 913873
tab face after intersect face ID 947022 changes to 924529
