Does anyone know how pigging loads are considered in the riser designs. As I've looked at few design reports and none of them mention anything about operational loads???

I don’t think its something that gets taken into account in riser design, the pressure required to get the pig up the riser is going to be lower than the operational pressure (most of the time anyway) so its not really worth considering.

Pigging loads are considered for large diameter risers bends. Particularly if the pig launcher is vertical, the pig will drop on to the bend [force = pig weight x velocity]. The riser bottom bend is also analysed for pig and slug loads.
