Oil, Gas and water separator sizing

Hi all,
we are going to replace a production separator and exiting conditions are here,
Oil flow = 8000 BOPD
Water Flow= 30,000 BWPD
Gasflow = 9 MMSCFD
Recomended flow are here,
Oil flow= 25000 -50000 BOPD
Water Flow= 6000- 40,000 BWPD
Gas flow= 56 MMSCFD,
I need your to understand why high flow rates are given and these flows will not increase the vessel size and cost of the vessel.
any one please advice me on this issue.

As to why, you need to ask the person who gave them to you. Maybe it is a mistake, maybe they are tieing in a bunch of new wells. To sixe it you will also need the operating pressure and temperature and the gas MW and the densities of the liquids.

Will it increase the size? Maybe depending what flows and properties were originally used to size the separator and how the new conditions compare.

There is a good article on sizing 3 phase separators by Sverchek (think that is the correct spelling).
 
There are lots of past threads on the subject of sizing three-phase separators. For a start try: thread798-156996 and the references therein.
